It was good, it was fun and it wasn't minus 3 like last year so it was pleasant -ish. What could they do better? Maybe not charge Auckland prices and maybe make the food selection with just a tad more care. We love raw and real but not for the same price that gets you raw and refined. But don't get me wrong. It was an experience and worth the effort to be a part of true Southland hospitality just would hate to see it become a gold rush. However, the highlight of the trip was the Roadie through the Catlins. Wow, stunning. We got lucky with the weather, it's often a grey wash, but we had bluebird and a rare 0% wind chill. What majesty, what beauty, and what amazing open roads to get you to those oysters:)
